We require an experienced Senior Java developer to work as part
of a growing team on our industry leading i-ZoneTV®
product range. Here is your opportunity to be part of a small dynamic

The successful applicant will have proven experience in software
product development.
Role Overview:
The role of Senior Java Developer would see you working in our Agile process oriented
product development team developing and maintaining our existing
product suite as well as working on new product development streams.
Joining the product development team at Tamblin now will provide
you an opportunity to get in at the start of a major new development
project to architect, develop and deliver the next generation of
i-ZoneTV® software for our broadcast and media industry
client base.
Must have skills/experience:
- Java J2SE
- Spring Framework
- Object Relational Mapping (ORM) experience, e.g.: Hibernate
- JSP / Servlet container such as Apache Tomcat
- SQL, relational DB experience, particularly with MySQL
- Unit testing, E.g.: JUnit
- Working knowledge of Unix / Linux environments
- OO analysis and design, from requirements capture onwards
- Problem solving ability and willingness to work to deadlines
- Full software development life-cycle
- Agile / XP development experience
- XML and XML processing with Java
- Experience of using a Java development IDE
Nice to have skills/experience:
- Product development experience
- Exposure to JPA / EJB 3.0
- J2EE and J2EE application servers, particularly Open Source
- Good general knowledge of Java Open Source community and
software
- Open Symphony Quartz
- Apache Lucene
- JAAS
- Flex / AJAX
- Eclipse IDE
- Eclipse plug-in development
- Content management system (CMS) integration experience / product
development
- Exposure to JSR 170 specification
- ANT, continuous build processes e.g. Cruise Control
- Client-side Java e.g.: Swing
- Formal OO analysis and design methodology experience with
experience of an OO modelling tool

Channel 4 - Big Brother 6
Channel 4 has again used Tamblin’s i-ZoneTV® Core to power
its interactive TV service for Big Brother 6, launched on 27th May 2005.
i-ZoneTV® Core will enable Channel 4 to offer a number of interactive
applications for the new series, including up-to-date news, competitions,
voting and messaging. Viewers can also use the red button to select
and watch dedicated video streams from within the Big Brother House.
Channel 4 and Endemol, the producers of Big Brother 6, will use i-ZoneTV®
Core to manage and publish interactive content to the red button service
on Channel 4 and E4 on Sky. The interactive content will be available
for the duration of the series, 24 hours a day. Tamblin has previously
worked with Channel 4 on a number of interactive TV projects, including
Big Brother 5, Celebrity Big Brother 3 and Channel Four Racing.
